Prof. R. G. B. Bhagavath Kumar, Professor of Law, Dean, Faculty of Law & Registrar, Srikrishnadevaraya University, Ananthapur was appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Andhra Pradesh University of Law, Visakhapatnam and he assumed charge as Vice-Chancellor of Andhra Pradesh University of Law, Visakhapatnam on the forenoon of 04-11-2011.
Prior to his appointment as Vice-Chancellor, Prof. R.G. Babu Bhagavath Kumar, was Professor of Law, Dean, Faculty of Law & Registrar of Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur. He was born on 11.06.1957. He had his LL.M and Ph.D from the University of Poona, Pune (1984 & 1989).
His Areas of Specialization are: Employment and Service Law, Tax Laws & Intellectual Property Law. He had the academic distinctions of having secured:
- First rank in B.G.L (Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur),
- Third rank in B.L (Sri Krishnadeveraya University, Anantapur)
- Fourth rank in LL.M (University of Poona, Pune)
- Ph.D in Law (University of Poona, Pune)
Academic Background
He was trained by eminent personalities in the field of Law, like Prof. S.K.Agrawala, a protege of Harvard Law School and student of Roscoe Pound, founder of Sociological Jurisprudence, by Prof. Raja Kumari Agrawala, protégé of Yale Law School, Prof. Mohammad Ghouse, great critic and Constitutional Law expert and Prof.C.J.Samuel, expert, in the field of Labour and Service Laws in India. His association with them as their student and colleague helped him to learn several skills and techniques in the field of Law and enabled him to grow as a creative individual. |
